Main Characteristics


A three-phase current transformer (CT) is an instrument designed to measure and monitor current in three-phase electrical systems.

Working Principle:
The three-phase current transformer operates based on electromagnetic induction. Each phase contains a primary winding (the conductor carrying the main current) and a secondary winding wound on a magnetic core. The alternating current in the primary winding induces a proportional current in the secondary winding, which is then used by meters or relays for measurement and protection, while maintaining electrical isolation from the high-voltage circuit.
